Noise Meter: Decibel dB (iOS)

In short

Your audio is never recorded. Your measurements never leave your phone. The app itself collects no personal data from you. The only data transfer happens through Google AdMob, which serves the ads in the app.

Microphone and audio

The app accesses the microphone to measure ambient sound level. Audio is processed instantly and discarded: it is not recorded, not written to disk, and not sent to any server. Nothing leaves the device — all computation happens on your phone in real time.

You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings → Noise Meter → Microphone. Measurement stops working; the rest of the app keeps working.

Your measurement records

Measurements you save (date, duration, minimum/average/maximum/peak values and chart data) are stored only on your device, inside the app's own container. They are not sent to us or to third parties, not backed up to our servers, and not synced. Deleting the app deletes them permanently.

Advertising

The app is free and supported by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect:

Google processes this data; we have no access to it. See Google's practices: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Tracking permission (ATT)

On iOS the app asks for tracking permission so ads can be selected based on your interests. You are not required to grant it. If you decline, ads are not personalised but every feature of the app stays available. You can change your choice in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

EU/UK users

Advertising consent is collected through Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change your consent choices from the ad settings inside the app.

What we do not collect

No account is required. We do not access your name, email, phone number, location permission, contacts or photos. We run no analytics of our own. We do not sell any data.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, GDPR or equivalent law gives you the right to access, correct and delete your data. Since we hold no data about you, such requests are in practice directed to Google; you may still contact us at tahakndcaliskan@gmail.com.

Deleting the app permanently erases all measurement data on your device.

Accuracy notice

Readings are based on a fixed reference tuned for the iPhone microphone and may deviate by a few dB depending on the device model. This app is not a certified sound level meter and must not be used for legal, occupational or medical purposes.

Changes
